The Spark That Saved Our School

When the doors of Mellow Valley School closed, a dedicated group of alumni, former teachers, and steadfast neighbors refused to let our historic grounds slip into history. Through vision, faith, and tireless advocacy, these founding members formed the Mellow Valley High School Alumni and Friends Association Inc.

We honor the original officers, board members, and charter organizers who stepped forward to secure the facility, establishing a permanent 501(c)(3) home where rural heritage, fellowship, and community service continue to flourish.

Hands-On Dedication to Rural Heritage

From flipping fish at our seasonal fundraisers to painting historic classrooms, preparing emergency landing zones, and guiding youth art programs, our volunteers are the living heartbeat of the center.

This Roll of Honor recognizes the extraordinary individuals who give their weekends, skills, and energy to ensure our halls remain clean, welcoming, and vibrant for neighbors of all ages.

  • Facilities & Grounds Crew: Maintenance, lawn care, structural upkeep, and event setup team members.

  • Event & Hospitality Teams: Dinner hosts, festival planners, ticket takers, and kitchen managers.

  • Program Instructors & Cultural Leaders: Local artists, educators, historians, and speakers who share their talents without charge to the Center..

Preserving nearly a century of physical history requires steadfast philanthropic leadership. We extend our deepest gratitude to the families, local businesses, and philanthropic partners whose major gifts, annual memberships, and planned estate bequests keep our historic center financially sound and structurally secure.
